Split Red Lentils

Red split lentils are the quickest to cook of the lentil family. They need no pre-soaking unlike many legumes and as they are split, they cook very quickly.

Instructions

Rinse split red lentils with fresh water first.

Add 1 cup lentils to 3 cups water/stock in a pan.

Bring to the boil and simmer until tender, approx. 15 minutes.

Tip: Add salt after cooking to avoid lentils becoming tough.
